Your Complimentary Initial Visit
What To Expect When You Come In
In our office we complete a comprehensive exam on all new orthodontic patients where we take orthodontic pictures of the teeth as well as iCat imaging to show the bone, teeth, airway, nasal passages and more. We evaluate palate shape and space, tongue positioning and function, and discuss in detail each patient’s history and concerns. Some patients may only need simple traditional orthodontic treatment to correct minor crowding or other cosmetic concerns. Other patients, however, may require more significant intervention.
We evaluate the tongue positioning and look for tongue restrictions that may impact orthodontic treatment and negatively impact skeletal growth. These patients will see one of our in-house Orofacial Myofunctional Therapists to correct the behavioral component and, if needed, will also be referred to Dr. Annie, who has focused her care on releasing restrictive oral tissues and myofunctional therapy. She conveniently sees our patients in the comfort of our office to address any structural issues with the tongue and other restrictive oral tissues.
During the initial examination for each patient, we will address the following questions that cover the basics of orthodontic treatment. We encourage you to ask questions as well.
- Is there a condition that orthodontics can address?
- Is there a condition that orthodontics can address?
- Is treatment needed now, or should treatment be delayed until appropriate growth, tooth eruption or other factors have occurred?
- What treatment procedures will be used to correct the problem?
- Do any permanent teeth need to be removed?
- How long will treatment take?
- How much will it cost?
- What are my payment options?

We will answer these general questions about treatment during the initial examination.
The consultation visit is to discuss treatment options, time frames and financial arrangements. We insist that our patients leave the office with a clear understanding of their specific needs, what the treatment will consist of and how long it will take. Also, we will answer any additional questions, and you’ll go away knowing the kind of attention to detail that is the hallmark of care with Dr. Brenda, Dr. Babb and the team at Braces For All Ages.
